Tri-County Quilt Guild
By-Laws and Policies
Revision 2025
Periodically, the Bord of Directors for Tri-County Quilt Guild will take a look at our By-Laws and Policies to check to make sure they are relevant and accurate for our current needs. We went through this process in 2023 and didn’t expect to go through the process again so soon, but we realized we had one issue to correct.
Article XI. Amendments states “These By-Laws may be amended or revised, upon the recommendation of the Executive Board by a two-thirds majority vote of the members present at the regular Guild meeting, provided notice of the proposed change has been made at the previous meeting, or on the website, or via email. The way this By-Law is written, the members need only be notified by one method and we have always notified the members by all three methods. We notify members at a meeting, post it on the website and via email at least 30 days prior to voting. The Board of Directors is proposing the By-Law read “These By-Laws may be amended or revised, upon the recommendation of the Executive Board by a two-thirds majority vote of the members present at a regular Guild meeting, provided notice of the proposed change has been made at the previous meeting, and on the website, and via email at least 30 days prior to voting” to correctly reflect our process.
We are presenting this proposed change at the April 1, 2025 meeting along with posting the proposed change on our website and in an email. This will help guarantee that all members will have a better chance to see any prosed changes to our By-Laws and Policies and be prepared to vote. For this proposed change, we will vote at the regular guild meeting on May 6, 2025.
Thank you and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
