2028 Quilt Show

Chair and Co-Chair Description

The 2028 Quilt Show Chair and Co-Chair(s) oversee all TCQG Quilt Show activities, including selecting the date, theme, venue, and committee chairs; meeting with committee chairs; updating members and the board on show changes and requirements; submitting newsletter articles and other needed communications; overseeing the show budget and expenses; and handling any other tasks needed to direct and produce the TCQG Quilt Show.

Committee Descriptions

The following committee roles are organized by area of responsibility to make it easier to see how each team supports the success of the quilt show.

Creative, Educational, and Program Support

•  Boutique: Designs and creates one-of-a-kind handcrafted items to sell during the quilt show.

•  Judges: Selects and supports the independent judges who evaluate entered quilts.

•  Quilt Appraiser Support: Assists the independent appraiser who evaluates quilts submitted for appraisal.

•  Ribbons: Designs, creates, and embroiders ribbons for quilt show award winners.

•  Schoolhouse: Serves as the educational arm of the guild by offering techniques and teaching opportunities during the show.

•  Website: Maintains quilt show information on the TCQG website.

Guest Experience and Public Engagement

•  Membership Table: Introduces visitors to the Tri-County Quilt Guild and helps recruit new members.

•  Public Admissions: Sells admission tickets to attendees during the quilt show.

•  Raffle Quilt: Coordinates display locations for the raffle quilt, transports it as needed, and sells raffle tickets before and during the show.

•  Silent Auction: Organizes and oversees the display of donated quilts for auction and encourages bidding.

•  Tin Can Raffle: Creates gift baskets and other prize items, then manages the raffle process during the show.

•  Treasure Aisle: Collects, organizes, and prices donated quilting and sewing supplies for resale at bargain prices during the show.

Operations and Logistics

•  Loading/Unloading Trailer: Moves quilt show materials from storage to the Berry Center before the show and returns bins, supplies,                 and equipment to storage afterward.

•  Quilt Hanging: Hangs quilts for display and removes them at the end of the show.

•  Quilt Intake: Manages the check-in process for quilts entered in the show.

•  TCQG Room Oversight: Supervises the designated room for volunteers’ personal belongings at the Berry Center.

•  Volunteers: Uses SignUpGenius to recruit and schedule volunteers for committee-assigned time slots during the show.

Finance and Vendor Support

•  Treasurer Support: Assists the guild’s Treasurer with cash handling during the show, including collecting funds, making change, and                  providing other needed support.

•  Vendors: Recruits vendors for booth space and supports them with setup, booth locations, lunches, and on-site assistance during the              show.
