DTF Pumpkins and Fabric Painting Class – Medina Domestic Arts Studio (Michele Markey)
These pumpkins are so much fun to color! In this class, each student will choose a pumpkin design and type of item to color:
1. A Direct to Film Iron on Transfer Pumpkin of their choice to be ironed on either a white tote bag, white fabric or a denim shirt (students can bring their own denim shirt or buy one at class.) Tote bag will be provided at no extra charge.
2. Using DTF (direct to film) transfers – a type of iron-on transfer with ink, you will choose from the designs offered (which include the designs shown above) and learn how to apply a DTF using a heat press.
3. Learn several basic techniques on how to color on your denim shirt, tote bag or block. (applicable to most other fabrics as well).
Each pumpkin kit comes with a 24 set of acrylic markers, samples of fabric paint, fabric medium, brushes and paint palette. The pumpkins come in three sizes: 8-9 inch, 10 inch and 12 inch – students can choose either size (no extra charge for larger size).
Class Fee (which includes acrylic markers, DTF and tote bag/fabric): $35.00
Shirts will be available in sizes Small to 3XL for $30.00 plus tax, if you choose to do an optional t-shirt.

CURVED PAPER PIECING WITH MICHAEL Davison
Curved paper piecing? I thought paper piecing had to always be straight lines? Nope!
Using Michael’s Hydrology foundation papers and the curved paper piecing technique, you will learn how to sew accurate curves and create this versatile 44″ x44″ wall hanging with the help of paper and printed lines. There are two layout versions.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
8-10 Dark Fat Quarters for Backgrounds
4 Light Fat Quarters for the light fabrics on both sides of the “waves”
1/2 yd of Medium Focus Fabric for the center of the “waves”

Pre-Cut Kit: I have laser cut kits in the original Sunken Treasure batiks seen in the class images available for $75. Shapes are ready for foundation paper piecing.Those optional kits are $75 and can be ordered through his website at michaelquilts.com

NOVEMBER-BONUS WORKSHOP
Wednesday, November 4, Jackie Hillman will be offering a second opportunity to learn her Disappearing Flying Geese process. It will be held at Sew & Vacuum Warehouse, 13233 North Eldridge, Cypress. From 10-4. There are multiple layout versions and you can do as few as 4 blocks. Fee is $35.
