January 7th lecture and 8th workshop – Denise Spies – Thread Painting 101 (The Quilty Shop $35) – Suggested Supplies:
A Panel to Thread Paint….Large Florals are fun and easy to get started on.
Good quality threads in various colors and thread weight. Aurifil is my thread of choice.
Medium weight stabilizer which will stay on your piece, so no wash away.
Sewing machine that you can drop the feed dogs on. If you have a machine with a Stitch Regulator that’s perfect, but not required as long as your feed dogs can be dropped. A New Needle in your machine.
50wt 12wt to start with.

February 4th lecture and 5th workshop – Annie McHugs – Picture Window Reverse Applique Large Dresden Plate Quilt (Bobbins and Threads $35) – A wonderful class for everyone who wants to learn to use the Picture Window Reverse Applique Method! A 22” picture window dresden plate will be completed. Participants will bring supplies (fabric for blades, fabrics to fussy cut, and a background).
March 4th Lecture and 5th workshop – Dianna Martinez – Stack and Whack, NOT a One Block Wonder – (The Quilty Shop $35)
April 2nd lecture and 3rd workshop – Debby Walters (IQF Teacher) – Designing with Strips and Curves – This workshop introduces quilters to the Basic Set cutting templates and the Drunkard’s Path block with its many (MANY!) variations (The Quilty Shop). The Basic Set includes the “L-Shape” and “Quarter Circle” of the traditional Drunkard’s Path block, plus two additional pieces – the “Wave” and “Half Moon” — which modify the quarter circle to offer even more design possibilities. May 6th lecture and May 7th workshop – Lisa Erlandson LE Quilts (IQF Teacher) – Star Light, Star Bright, Stars Upon My Bed Tonight (Bobbins and Threads) – Stars grace some of our oldest quilts in either quilting, piecing or applique. This trunk show takes us across time to see how our expression of stars in quilts has changed in the last 200 years – or has it? The WORKSHOP is Wimmen’s Work – Patterns celebrating women’s life from earlier, but not really simpler days.
June 3rd lecture and 4th workshop – Kim Eleson Quiltaholics Anonymous (IQF Teacher) – Lecture – Batiks (Bobbins and Threads) – Have you ever wondered how quilting batiks are made? In this lecture, I will share my experiences making and buying batiks in Java and Bali through video, pictures and samples. WORKSHOP – Hawaiian Appliqué- (6-hour workshop) Have you been drooling over gorgeous Hawaiian quilts but felt intimidated by needle-turn appliqué or hand quilting? After this workshop, you will be confident in your abilities to create a beautiful masterpiece in the Hawaiian style. Using my methods, tips and tricks, you will create your own Hawaiian quilted cushion or wall hanging. Kit required.
August 5th lecture and 5th workshop – Scott Flanagan 4th & Main Designs (IQF Teacher) – Lecture – Positively Pre-Cuts (Bobbins and Threads) – In this lecture I’ll discuss what the different pre-cuts are and show ways I have used them and tricks to maximize them to the fullest, and how I buy when no project is planned. WORKSHOP – TBA
September 2nd lecture and 3rd workshop – Dee Bushrod Pixel Quilts Creator (IQF TEACHER) – Lecture will be on her 18 years of quilts and finding her passion for PIXEL quilts. An introduction into how she creates pixel quilts and how you too can create your own pixel quilts (The Quilty Shop). WORKSHOP – Cherry Blossom Pixel Quilt workshop. An introduction to sewing pixel quilts using 2 techniques. You’ll learn both techniques while putting together a pixel cherry blossom and figuring out which technique you like best so that you can create your own pixelated quilts. Also, if you want some 1 on 1 time with Dee on a specific idea or quilt, you can sign up for 3o mins with her @ an additional cost of $40 to create your own pixel quilt, normally $85.
November 4th lecture and 5th workshop – Lecture – Laser Cutting in Modern Quilting – Laser cutting technology has emerged as a transformative tool in the realm of textiles. This lecture offers a captivating glimpse into the future of creativity and precision in modern quilting (The Quilty Shop). WORKSHOP – Quilted Shoes – Rock out on the town with your own custom quilted sneakers! This all-day workshop invites participants to embark on a journey of artistic expression and functional design as they learn to turn patchwork into quilted shoes. During this hands-on creative experience, attendees will be introduced to the fundamentals of shoemaking, including cutting, sewing, and assembling shoe components. By the end of the day, participants will have crafted their own one-of-a-kind quilted shoes.
