Tri-County Quilt Guild supports several organizations in the three counties that we cover which include Harris, Waller, and Montgomery. We make quilts and provide them free of charge to the following non-profit organizations listed below. Please consider a donation of any size to our guild to help support our mission by filling out the donation form at the bottom of this page.
Boys & Girls Country is a group home for children in our area. Its mission is to change the lives of children who come from families in crisis, by loving and nurturing them in a Christian environment, and raising them to become self-sustaining and contributing adults. The children are primarily from the greater Houston area. They are located 35 miles northwest of Houston off FM 2920 in Hockley. Boys & Girls Country can serve 48 boys and 40 girls, ages 5-18, with a total of 88 children at any one time.
Not included in this number are 76 others each year who are still a part of their home family after they have graduated from high school and gone on to college, trade school, the military, or first jobs. To date, they’ve been home to over 1,200 children.
We’ll make quilts for these kids in various sizes, for both boys and girls.
Kenmar Residential Services supports adults who are developmentally disabled. They are located in Cypress and its mission is to provide training, help, and support for families, friends, congregations, and other service providers. To that end, we’ll be making quilts as well, complementing the love and care provided by Kenmar.

- Finished quilts, sized from approximately 42″ x 42″ to 48″ x 72″
- And don’t forget the older kids, teen boys, especially – plaids, Nascar, etc.
- Quilt tops, ready to be quilted, above sizes
Additionally, the Charity Quilts Committee suggests that each member consider making it a goal to donate one quilt top or finished quilt during their birthday month. Very easy and doable, and we can each be a part of making a child’s life a little more comfortable.
Bring your tops and/or quilts to the guild meetings and give them to Sharon Castillo, our Charity Quilts committee head, and as a bonus, anyone who signs out one of the Charity Bee’s kits to finish or who brings back a finished quilt will receive an extra door prize ticket!
The Charity Bee will be happy to take any UFOs, orphan blocks, batting, BRIGHT–COLORED–CHEERY fabrics, and even some plaids, etc for the older boys.
Be An Angel Fund was created in 1986 by a concerned parent who discovered the overwhelming requirements of special needs children at T.H. Rogers School in Houston in Houston, TX. Now over 27 years later, Be An Angel serves thousands of special needs children throughout Texas, primarily in the Greater Houston, Fort Worth, and Dallas areas. The funds raised have been used to purchase custom, medical wheelchairs, hearing aids, and other adaptive equipment construct barrier-free playgrounds, provide thousands of area children with gifts during the holidays, send children to summer camp, provide respite care and support so many other wonderful programs that help enrich the lives of the children we serve. Be An Angel offers beginner, intermediate and advanced level American Sign Language classes. Be An Angel supports All Ears! Listening & Language Center in the Woodlands, Texas.
Cy-Fair Helping Hands Our goal is to meet the critical needs of the homeless, struggling individuals, and families in Cy-Fair, regardless of age, race, or religious affiliation. Without judgment we provide services, free of charge to our clients, treating each with dignity and respect. We provide services to the homeless and hungry in Cy-Fair through our Homeless Initiatives and our Community Outreach programs.
Nora’s Home Offers transplant patients and their families an affordable place to stay where they can find support and share experiences with others, in the comfort of a home-like environment. Built with the specific needs of transplant patients and families in mind.

Teen Life Center The guild provides baby quilts and receiving blankets (formerly known as HUGS) to teen mothers.
As part of our agreement with
Fairfield Baptist Church, we’re now collecting non-perishable foods and canned goods for
“Nothing But Net – Open Gym Ministries”“Open Gym” was established in 1992 as a way to reach out to those in need in the community. In addition to providing a place for individuals and families to meet, play, and receive counseling, they provide a meal and activities for all who come to their Thursday evening meetings, serving between 8 and 200 people each week. They sponsor a food and clothing pantry, a diaper ministry, and more. Multi-pack non-perishable items are always needed, including any extra pantry staples you might have on hand. They’re also in need of new/gently-used clothing, diapers, personal hygiene items, etc.
